Pastor Dorothy Porter was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi. At the age of 19, she moved to Los Angeles, with her young son and a dream to be a Registered Nurse. She graduated from LA Southwest College with a degree in Nursing and began her career at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital where she worked for 39 years. Upon moving to Ontario, CA in 1989, she founded Prayer and Praise Ministries C.O.G.I.C. and has been shepherding this ministry for nearly three decades. With her church by her side, she sponsors several community outreach programs, feeding hundreds of community members in Ontario, organizes churches and members of the community to stand for racial reconciliation and other social justice related issues, and preaches/ministers across Southern California spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Pastor Porter’s number one mission is that Christ uses her to spread the Kingdom of God.
